Policies

The HiTIF runs projects on a collaborative basis with NIH investigators. Precedence will be given to CCR/NCI projects. Requests for information, discussion of possible collaborations and for training and access to the HiTIF equipment should be directed to the Facility Head.

Typical projects include High-Throughput Imaging (HTI) based arrayed screens of siRNA or sgRNA oligos libraries for RNAi or CRISPR-Knock Out (KO) experiments. The HiTIF is currently capable of running screens with libraries containing up to ~ 5000 reagents. For larger RNAi or CRISPR-KO screens, we are open to team projects in collaboration with the NIH Functional Genomics Lab at the National Center for Advancing Translational Science (NCATS). In this case the liquid handling part of the screen will be handled at NCATS, while high-throughput image acquisition and image analysis will be performed at HiTIF.

The HiTIF also strongly encourages the use of HTI for projects that have a smaller footprint in terms of number of experimental conditions tested (down to few tens), but that either require many images to detect rare cellular events in heterogeneous cell populations, or that require quantitative analysis of complex cellular phenotypes. Please inquire with the Head of the Facility for further information on smaller scale projects. In addition, we are open to collaborate with CCR investigators on HTI analysis projects that do not directly make use of HiTIF instrumentation.

Investigators are expected to cover the cost of reagents and consumables.
