LMIG Mission
The Light Microscopy Interest Group (LMIG) is dedicated to fostering a community of researchers interested in advancing light fluorescence microscopy and its applications to biomedical research. Through monthly seminars, a listserv, and an informative website, LMIG provides a platform for sharing cutting-edge microscopy techniques, innovative approaches to single-cell imaging, and in-situ biophysics. The group aims to bridge the gap between NIH biologists and microscopists by demonstrating the applicability of state-of-the-art microscopy to tissue and cell biology challenges. LMIG seminars emphasize biological data, detailed discussions of microscopy methods, and candid insights into their successes and challenges. The listserv serves as a forum for microscopy-related discussions, troubleshooting, and equipment advice, promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing across the NIH community. Moderators include Tatiana Karpova (NCI), Christian Combs (NHLBI), and Simona Patange (NIST).
