Background

Dr. Sagar received his postdoctoral training at NIBIB, focusing on the development of spectral imaging techniques using photo-switchable proteins. He earned his PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2019, where he conducted research on optical and computational methods to enhance fluorescence imaging for studying cellular microenvironments. Prior to that, he worked as a senior software engineer at Samsung R&D from 2011 to 2013, specializing in the development of on-chip image processing software. In 2023, Dr. Sagar joined NCI as a Staff Scientist. His areas of expertise encompass high throughput image processing, confocal/multiphoton microscopy, and machine learning.
