Mission and Goals

The mission of the CCR Microscopy Core Facility is to support the microscopy and digital imaging needs of investigators studying the biological structures and cellular processes involved in the cell biology of cancer by applying our diverse imaging resources, expertise, and quality customer service. The goal is to provide cutting-edge imaging technology, expert consultation and training, image analysis, and data management for investigators to advance their cancer research.

Expertise

The Core places an emphasis on training users to be independent but the staff is available to help in all phases of the experiment. The Core provides expertise in confocal, two-photon, super-resolution Airyscan and Structured Illumination (SIM), and Stimulated Emission Depletion (STED) imaging applications that are available to all CCR investigators free of charge. We provide consultation in sample preparation and experimental design, and train users on the efficient and appropriate use of advanced microscopy imaging methods, image data processing, and comprehensive image analysis.
